About Barista Hub
From the Roastery to the Equipment Rack
Frank didn't set out to become one of Australia's most switched-on coffee equipment importers. In 2012, he walked away from a corporate banking career to do something that actually mattered to him — roast coffee. What started as hobby turned into a coffee roasting operation which quickly revealed a problem that nobody in the Australian market seemed particularly interested in solving.
Coffee equipment was either cheap and disappointing, or excellent and eye-wateringly expensive. The middle ground — equipment that genuinely performs, built by brands that actually give a damn about engineering — was almost nowhere to be found at a price that made sense.
So in 2016, Barista Hub was born.
We Saw the Gap Before Anyone Else Did
The Australian coffee equipment market had a blind spot. Serious home baristas and small café operators were being pushed toward either entry-level gear that held them back, or flagship machines that required a second mortgage. Frank knew from years in the industry that exceptional performance didn't have to cost a fortune — it just required finding the right brands.
From 2021, Barista Hub made a significant push into equipment supply, backing a clear philosophy: value over cheap, performance over prestige.
We were the first to import the DF series of coffee grinders into Australia — before they became the Turin brand that coffee geeks across the country now know and love. We saw what those coffee grinders could do before the rest of the market caught on, and we backed them early. That's how we operate.
The Brands We Back — and Why
We don't stock everything. We stock the things that challenge how the industry thinks.
Turin Grinders — Turin builds grinders that punch well and truly above their price point. Flat burr technology, low retention, stepless adjustment — the kind of spec list that used to belong exclusively to machines costing three times as much. Turin proved that doesn't have to be the case.
DK Coffee Equipment — Precision espresso machines that bring genuine café-grade performance not just to cafes but in any environment where coffee can be served. DK approaches machine design with an engineer's mindset rather than a marketer's.
Orbiter Coffee Roasters — The OB-1 Pro is the kind of machine that makes small-batch roasting genuinely accessible for the first time. Hybrid drum and hot-air technology, full digital control, and the ability to develop consistent roast profiles — in a compact electric format. Orbiter is rethinking what a roaster can be.
LeBrew Tech — Burr technology that redefines what's possible at the component level. When the grinding surface itself is engineered differently, everything downstream improves.
Every brand we carry has earned its place by doing something the industry said couldn't be done at that price point. That's the filter we use.
Based in Sydney. Obsessed with Coffee.

Whether you're dialling in your first home espresso setup or outfitting a production roastery, we have the gear — and the knowledge — to back it up.
We're not a big box retailer with a coffee section. We're coffee people who happen to run a business.
